HULL NUMBERS
(And Some Suggested Locations To Find Them)

Gary and Brenda

Look on the forward side of the cross beam, under the mast, inside the boat. There is another name for the beam but I can't recall it.  The number should be cut into this pc.

A. J.  Matthews, Ay Mon, #605

I had it easy. First, all of my sails were labeled with Ay Mon's hull number. Next, I have a bronze plate bolted to the back of the cockpit, right behind the tiller above the access hatch for the lazarette.

If you have none of these, try pulling out the drawers in the galley and under your berths. The factory sometimes place the hull numbers there to keep track of the hardware and various parts during construction.

Once you have determined the hull number, check out Bristol Bronze (bristolbronze.com). They offer a Pearson Builders Plate for about $40.00.  Apparently, they have the original mold. It is a must have! After you purchase one, have it stamped or better yet engraved with your hull number.

Go into the forward cabin, turn around and look carefully at the beam that supports the mast. On most boats I have seen, the number was stamped into the beam.  This may not be the case in a  boat as late as yours - but give it a look and see what you see.

Allen Hilburn,

There are two vertical beams that frame the door port and starboard, and a cross beam at the top.  The number on KAHOLEE is centered in this cross beam, facing the v-berth.  But like Bill says, KAHOLEE is an early Triton, so this might have changed.

Steven, Alleron

Hull 332 here.  I never have found a hull number on mine.  I go by existing documentation.

I just bought Maggie J whose hull number is 592.  It was made in 1965 and there is no number on the mast support beam.  I guess this could mean the beam had been replaced.  but my number is on the aft end of the cockpit on a metal disc.

Tim Lackey, Glissando, #381

With all the work I've done on #381, I never saw a hull number anywhere on any component.  Fortunately, I had the metal builder's plate and the number on the mainsail.

Larry, Dogstar, #607

Soubrette has a really nice plate, too. See attached photo (below.) I'm kind of thinking about something like that for Dogstar.
