I replaced my trashed wooden
lids (which didn't have latches) with MarineTex from Tap Plastics.
The
design is simple, but the
edges aren't parallel, so I used cardboard to make the cutting template.
There is a lip under the front that is attached with small screws.
The hinges are original and the hasps I added when I installed these new
lids. They work great and require no maintenance! (I'd rather
sail than do bright work....)
